How do I book a tour?โ–ผ

Browse guides via the search page, select a tour package, choose a date and number of people, then click "Book Now." The guide confirms within 24 hours and you receive an email with a PDF voucher.

Are all guides licensed?โ–ผ

Yes โ€” Guideon only approves guides who hold a valid licence from Oman's Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. Each guide profile shows a "Ministry Licensed" badge once verified.

What languages do guides speak?โ–ผ

Most guides speak both Arabic and English. Many also speak French, German, Spanish, Italian, or Russian. Filter by language in the search page.

Can I cancel my booking?โ–ผ

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the tour โ€” full refund.

Within 48 hours โ€” 50% non-refundable.

Within 24 hours / no-show โ€” no refund.

Bad weather or government restrictions โ€” full refund regardless.

What if the guide doesn't show up?โ–ผ

Contact us immediately via WhatsApp +968 9525 5450 or email. You receive a full refund plus a 10% Guideon credit for rebooking.

Can I message the guide before booking?โ–ผ

Yes. After signing in, every guide profile has a "Message" button. Ask about availability, pricing, or any special requests before confirming.

Is it safe to travel with a stranger?โ–ผ

Every Guideon guide is licensed, verified, and reviewed by previous tourists. You can read all reviews on a guide's profile. For solo travelers we also recommend choosing guides with 10+ reviews and a 4.5+ rating.

What should I wear or bring?โ–ผ

Modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is appreciated, especially at mosques. For desert/wadi tours bring sun protection and water shoes. Each tour page lists specific recommendations.

How do I join as a guide?โ–ผ

Register at www.guideon.om/register, complete your profile, upload your MoHT licence, and submit for verification. Approval usually within 48 hours.

Is there a fee to join?โ–ผ

Free during the launch period. After launch we plan a small service fee (10-15%) on completed bookings only โ€” never a monthly fee.

How are tours priced?โ–ผ

You set your own prices. You can create multiple package variants (Standard / Premium / VIP) plus add-ons like hotel pickup or photography. Add discounts for early-bird offers.

When do I get paid?โ–ผ

During the free launch, tourists pay you directly (cash or bank transfer). Once payments are enabled in Guideon, payouts will be transferred 2-3 days after the tour is marked complete.

How does the calendar work?โ–ผ

Set your available dates in your dashboard. Each tour can have specific dates too. The calendar auto-blocks accepted bookings so you won't be double-booked.

Can I cancel a confirmed booking?โ–ผ

Yes, but try to give 48+ hours notice. Frequent guide-initiated cancellations may affect your visibility ranking. In emergencies, contact Guideon support and we'll help relocate the tourist to another guide.

I forgot my password.โ–ผ

Click "Forgot password" on the login page. We send a reset link to your registered email (link is valid for 1 hour).

How do I enable Two-Factor Authentication?โ–ผ

Sign in, then visit www.guideon.om/two-factor. Scan the QR with Google Authenticator (or any TOTP app) and save your backup codes. Strongly recommended for guides and admins.

How do I delete my account?โ–ผ

Email Hh95255450hh@hotmail.com from your registered address. We confirm and delete within 30 days. Note: bookings and tax records are retained for 7 years per Omani law.

Is my data safe?โ–ผ

Yes. Passwords are encrypted (bcrypt), all traffic uses HTTPS, optional 2FA available, regular security audits. Read our full Privacy Policy.

What payment methods do you accept?โ–ผ

Currently free โ€” during the launch period you arrange payment directly with your guide (cash, bank transfer, or another method of mutual choice). Online card payments (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay) will be added soon via Stripe.

Which currencies can I use?โ–ผ

All prices are in Omani Rial (OMR) โ€” the only currency for payment. The site can display equivalent USD / EUR / GBP for reference using approximate rates.

Do you charge a service fee?โ–ผ

No fees during the launch period. After launch a small service fee (planned 10-15%) will apply to bookings made through the Platform. We'll always notify you in advance.
